I took a quick trip to Denver, Colorado this past weekend to
visit some very important family members.
We aren't able to see them as often as we would like to, so spontaneous
short trips are a must. While we were
there I was introduced to some incredible new restaurants with creative
concepts. The food was amazing and it
was so simple.
Now Denver is a much bigger city than little ole Richmond,
but we need to bring these ideas over here.
The Boka Truck is the closest thing to Margs Taco Bistro... Can we please
convince Patrick Harris to partner up with a restaurant dude and bring this
awesome idea to Richmond? Margs is
fantastic. You can order two tacos or 3
tacos in whatever combination you choose.
The tacos were unbelievable and they also were available
gluten-free! I picked:
"Banh Mi (Vietnamese)
Natural
pork marinated in traditional Thai blend of chilis, garlic, sesame oil &
green onions. Topped with pickled cucumbers & carrots, lettuce & served
with sriracha mayo"
and
"Korean Pork
Slow
roasted pork with pickled cucumbers, scallions, hoisin sauce, sriracha"
If I
had a much bigger stomach, I would have gone for three... these tacos were
insanely delicious.
For
brunch we headed out to True Food Kitchen.
The food from this restaurant is supposed to be ultra-healthy and good
for the soul. The concept is to nourish
your body with pure foods and you will be happy and live longer. All five of us were happy when we left, that's
for sure. I devoured my Quinoa Johnny
cakes and there wasn't a bite left of the bison burger across the table from
me. They also offered a gluten-free
pizza crust! This place was
fantastic. It was most certainly a place
I wish we had in the Mond.
Ok
all of you restaurant buffs... just think about it! Both of these top restaurants were in a Richmond-like place... Cherry Creek.

Oh my...that sounds amazing! I wish I could find restaurants like that in our area. All we have around here are the huge corporate chains like Red Lobster's and Appleby's. We live in the suburbs and the only way to find a good restaurant is to head into the city. It's really unfortunate.
I love finding great small restaurants to eat at. It is fun trying new foods occasionally. However, when we eat out we tend to stick to our favorites.
very nice to find small out of the way gems on trips! Thanks for sharing =)
Thanks for the tips. I might be going to the Denver area, and it's nice to know where to get some grub!
Sounds like it was a great find! I love finding authentic food that is delicious. Thanks for sharing.
THanks for the comment CNM! :)
I know what you mean. Shop Local!
You never know when you'll find a new favorite!
