Over New Year's we spent some time in Pawley's Island, South Carolina with some dear friends that we haven't seen in a while. It was such a great time because everyone was there to have fun. We were with wonderful company and the kids had a ball!
There were 10 kids and 11 adults, so there was never a dull moment. When you have that many people in one house, you have to prepare easy dishes that everyone will enjoy. Our menu was incredible!
The first night James and Susannah cooked us some comforting Shrimp and Grits with a twist. They added a nice wow-factor with Brock's venison summer sausage to complement the flavor of the grits. The shrimp were cooked perfectly! Susannah used Low Country stone ground grits and added half-n-half instead of water. Yum.

To go along with some more venison summer sausage and cheese, the next night Charlie grilled some dove wrapped in bacon while Robert brought along some duck pirlau! It was quite the feast!! I've never tried dove and was pleasantly surprised!
On New Year's Eve, Andy and I contributed by bringing home some Chive Blossom She-Crab soup for the whole house. We started off with the soup and then Charlie delighted us with the option of red drum or sea bass. This talented fisherman caught enough fish for all of us to relish in either treat. We were very spoiled! I almost forgot that Mariah added some crab meat/caper sauce on top of our fish!
The food was amazing; the memories will never be forgotten... 2013 is going to be a great year!
