Semi-Homemade Hard Taco Shells

Fits right in your hand!

We've had taco night at our house, but never the kind when the kids have been able to assemble their own.  I decided they were ready tonight.  And it turned out to be so much fun.  They loved the idea that they had created their own meal.  The excitement led them to eat more too, which is always a bonus.

Instead of sharing a recipe tonight, I wanted to give you tip for your taco night.  You know those over-priced boxes of hard tacos you see above the soft tacos?  Don't buy those! You can make your own hard tacos by simply baking the soft ones.  These are great because you can make them wider too!

Here's what you do:

Preheat oven to 350° F.
Turn a muffin pan upside down and spray it with non-stick cooking spray.

Lay soft corn tortilla over cup; making sure tortilla forms a dome shape.  Repeat with desired amount of tortillas.

Spray tortillas with cooking spray.

Bake in preheated oven for 10-12 minutes.

Wide, huh?

Remove from oven and let cool.

Transfer to plate and fill with your choice of goodies.

Taco night = Happy Kids
