A while ago I bought a box of bread mix that I knew I would use in last minute situations. One time I was in need of an appetizer to take to a cocktail party. Last week was the start of a new year at our church. We were due after missing most if not all Sundays during the summer. I had nothing in my head that I could think of to whip up the morning of church until I peered through my pantry and found the box of Tastefully Simple BeerBatter Bread mix.
I tell you what. I was very relieved to see the box. I went to a Tastefully Simple party and was so impressed by the mix alone. All you do is add beer to the mix and pour it in a bread pan and bake it for an hour. Voila!
I like to change it up and make different things out of the mix. Like the recipe I brought to the cocktail party. That was a big hit. I had some to save for the kiddos and they loved it! No beer in that batch.
The batch I took to church didn’t have beer either and I didn’t even use any carbonated liquid. I was a little worried, but it turned out really well.
I am not making this up… my kids picked my banana bread over the chocolate chip cookies sitting right next to the bread and they preferred mine!! I didn’t beg them to try it, they had a sample before we got to church and were in love!
You’ve got to try this stuff. If you want to know where to find it, buy some from my friend Blair! 🙂 She sells it.
